Demolition Day was 11 weeks ago, and we’re pleased to tell you that we’re only three weeks away from completion of the house!
Bob and Crystal – the homeowners – have been so excited and grateful for every detail of construction. Until recently they had been stopping by almost every day to see the rapid progress and meet the people who are making this miracle happen for them. But, on October 31st we let them know they were no longer allowed on site (!) in order to build anticipation for The Reveal in mid-December. Here’s what the house looked like the last time the family saw it:
We have several events planned around The Reveal. Because of the large number of generous contributors involved in Project Family Room, none of these events will be open to the public. If you are receiving this email, you are a contributor and are invited to attend the Contributors’ Walk Thru or the Open House. We encourage 1-2 representatives from each business/group to attend the Thursday Open House. If you are unable to attend on Thursday or, if you have several employees who would also like to tour the house, please attend the Contributors’ Walk Thru on Wednesday evening.
Wednesday Dec 10 5-8pm
Contributors’ Walk Thru
The house will be open for all contributors to tour through the completed house. We – Paul and Verena and Greg – will be on hand to greet you and answer any of your questions.
Thursday Dec 11 morning
The Reveal
On this morning we will reveal the new house to the whole family. This will be a private event for the family only and regrettably, contributors will not be allowed to be present on this morning as we simply cannot accommodate everyone. We will capture it all with video and photos to share on the website later.
Thursday Dec 11 3:30-6:30pm
Open House
This Open House is for contributors. Bob and Crystal and some of their children will be present. Radio, TV, print and web media are also expected to cover the story. At 4pm, 5pm and 6pm we’ll have a short presentation in the Great Room to officially hand over the keys to Bob and Crystal. Each presentation will be identical. Please come to tour the house and take in one of the presentations!
Again, because we have so many generous contributors we must limit the number of representatives from each business/group to 1-2 persons for the Thursday Open House. If you have more employees who would also like to tour the house, or if you are unable to attend on Thursday, please attend the Contributors’ Walk Thru on Wednesday evening. None of these events are open to the public. If you have any questions about attending these events, please ask us.
Finally, we want to say thank you to The Daily Courier for the Project Family Room announcement they ran in last Thursday’s paper, which acknowledged all contributors. Watch for another larger announcement in The Daily Courier in December, along with more media coverage with links to our website and acknowledgement of all the generous contributors who have made this worthy project possible.
